Hi, I’m Carol.

As a psychologist who plays an active role in therapy conversations (no silent treatment from me, I promise!), I help guide stuck people to greater satisfaction. Satisfaction sometimes comes from personal and career achievements big and small, but also simply from relief from overbearing emotions that have long ago served their alerting purpose that something is up.

You will be developing new resources and confidence as you deal with low lying fruit, and also develop new strategies for tackling the tough problems that may have steered you to seeking therapy with me.  So where do you want to go? And when? I’m sensitive to working within your own comfortable pace to help you take charge of your emotions, to harness your best thoughts, to dream, and to make more and more great choices. I work as your active guide, knowing that you’re the expert on you.

I'm here to patiently and compassionately help you move from frustration, distress and crisis, to resolution and growth.

My formal education includes a Ph.D., a master's degree, and a bachelor's degree, all in the field of psychology. (Ask me sometime about how I trained goldfish, along the way. And, played quite the game of racquetball, plus backpacking and singing in community musical theater.) I do love my work, and I’m eager to stay current, expanding my depth of knowledge to keep fresh within developing topics and emerging skills.

Over a deeply rewarding 20+ year career, I've been fortunate to be able to help support and often turn around thousands of wonderful people's lives -- for people looking for understanding guidance through the issues of … life!

You may wonder about this photo. I was hiking by a river with lush vegetation. It was one of those “carpe diem” — seize the moment — moments.

What will working together look like?

As your psychologist, I can help guide you to a clearer focus, to break free from the blur of emotions. With a bit of humor along the way, and a lively two-way conversational approach, I help people move toward relief and mastery.

We work together toward what works for you. I well know that things might be bleak or stressed or scary now. But after a bit, people learn how to confidently navigate the journey that is therapy.

I offer a free 15 minute phone consultation to help you learn more about my practice, and to help us decide about fit and working together, or further options you may wish to explore.
